Abstract

This IDC Presentation aims to assess the balance of power between IT and LOB executives as it relates to the software procurement and deployment life cycle in European organizations.

It leverages IDC's European Software End-User Survey data and existing IP around to assess country, vertical, and market segment differences therein.

The above findings are then mapped to a typical IT organization in terms of:

  • Key IT priorities and structures
  • Budgeting and project rollout processes
  • Key performance indicators (KPIs) by IT role

It also aims to provide IT vendors with some inputs into their engagements at various points of the software procurement and deployment life cycle.

Finally, it provides software end users with an opportunity to benchmark their own practices across these activities with those of similar organizations in the industry.

This presentation was originally delivered to a number of IDC clients in Europe in the July/August time frame.
