This IDC study analyzes the results of IDC's European Software Survey 2013. We surveyed 700 end users across seven regions in Europe and asked about their activities and intentions around nine specific activities relating to social business.
"IDC expects a strong increase in projects relating to social business in 2013," said Alys Woodward, research director for European Business Analytics, IDC Collaboration and Social Solutions. "More than twice the number of organizations who had already implemented initiatives were planning initiatives during the course of the twelve months ending March 2014. Internal social networks, external social networks, and lead generation are the most popular social business activities for implementation in the next 12 months. Organizations are taking social networks to their communities of employees and partners, while also leveraging their social presence to generate leads."
