This IDC study analyzes the European business intelligence (BI) tools market in 2011 by segment (end-user query reporting and analysis and advanced analytics) and country based on IDC's underlying dataset that covers vendor-level revenue information by half year for 16 countries across Western Europe.
"The European BI tools market achieved healthy 2011 growth of 5.4%" said Alys Woodward, research director, IDC European Business Analytics, Collaboration and Social Software. "While Europe continues to labor under economic challenges, many national markets are mature, and European organizations continue to work toward providing information for decision making to their customers. The challenge for vendors is to expand their offerings to leverage new paradigms such as social analytics and Big Data while continuing to optimize the provision of basic information from internal transactional systems."
