Angèle Boyd is responsible for IDC's worldwide research practice in the areas of imaging, output and document solutions (printing, scanning, business-critical document workflows, and managed print/document services). She is also responsible for IDCs U.S. small/medium business research spanning the IT industry. She has conducted research and consulting at IDC since 1986.
During this time, she has been recognized as a Chairman's Achiever, and received the company's award for research excellence, the James Peacock Award.
Her research and consulting experience includes market plan development, strategic analysis, extensive demand-side research by company size and industry, and analysis of customer purchasing behavior using various distribution channels. Topics covered in her work are document-intensive business processes, document digitization solutions, printing and imaging services, and color printing technologies.
Ms. Boyd has written white papers and spoken on topics such as managed print/document services, information overload and the role of document solutions, and the impact of the economy and the green/sustainable movement on printing, scanning and business process document workflows.
She is quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today, Investors Business Daily, the San Jose Mercury News, the San Francisco Chronicle, Forbes and Fortune magazine.
Prior to IDC, at the consulting company Arthur D. Little Inc., she was a core team member evaluating the costs and benefits of computerized management information systems. She assisted in the design, implementation, and analysis of several evaluations.
She received her B.A. from Tufts University (magna cum laude) and MBA (honors) from Babson College. She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
