James Eibisch is research director for IDC's EMEA Telco Cloud Opportunities (ETCO) program. In this role, he provides market analysis, competitive intelligence, consulting, and forecasting on the market for cloud services sold by network service providers, including IaaS, SaaS, and cloud marketplaces/brokering. He also covers the datacenter colocation services market.

Eibisch joined IDC's Telecoms group in 1998 to research the European market for IP-based services including IP VPNs, Web hosting and application service providers (ASPs). Before IDC, he researched the Internet and intranet services markets for INPUT, and before that covered UNIX systems and software products for Datapro Information Services Group.

Eibisch has been lead analyst on a large number of consulting projects, big and small, covering a wide range of topics including business network services, carrier-neutral colocation, telco cloud, and Web hosting. Consulting deliverables include market sizing and forecasting, market share analysis, competitive analysis, user survey-based demand analysis, strategy advice, market entry and expansion strategy, and go-to-market services such as white papers and customer Webinars. Clients of consulting projects include network and datacenter service providers, hardware vendors, domestic and international government agencies, and investment banks.

In addition, Eibisch has managed IDC's annual EMEA WAN Manager survey for several years, from survey and questionnaire design, through statistical analysis, to presenting results at client workshops and conferences.
