Gary Koch has more than 10 years of experience in verticals research in Asia Pacific.
He is an Associate Vice President of IT Spending Research for IDC Asia/Pacific. He is involved in building IDC's successful research tracker programs and producing core market data used across all of IDC's Asia/Pacific wide research reports and consulting projects. Gary is currently responsible for coordination of regional verticals research initiatives that supports not only IDC CIS program initiatives, but also IDC's regional and global Insights divisions. He has been with IDC Asia/Pacific for more than eighteen years and annually contributes to several global and region-wide syndicated research programs and consulting assignments.
Garys main area of responsibility is research development for, and management of vertical specific profiling of product and service demand in relationship to product adoption, macroeconomic and demographic patterns. In this role, he manages and coordinates survey requirements, questionnaire design, data analysis, model development and reporting. Through his research, working collaboratively with all regional IDC ongoing primary research programs and secondary research initiatives, IDC has developed an integrated methodology for assessment of vertical and company size product and service demand.
Gary graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BS degree and has traveled and studied extensively in the Far East including cultural and political programs at Beijing University and a eighteen month language course at the Mandarin Training Centre at the Taiwan National University.
