As Vice President in IDC's Worldwide Tracker Research group, Roman Maceska is responsible for assuring data quality and consistency in IDC's worldwide trackers across multiple programs and regions. Based out of IDC's office in Prague, he is focused on leveraging global research processes and efficiencies through the development of common data tools and practices to drive data quality and, in turn, customer confidence and satisfaction.
In addition, Mr. Maceska is responsible for the overall management, research, and business development activities of IDC Insights for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEMA), consisting of IDC Energy Insights, IDC Financial Insights, IDC Government Insights, IDC Health Insights, IDC Manufacturing Insights, and IDC Retail Insights. These business units help enterprises and IT executives maximize the business value of their technology investments, minimize technology risk, benchmark themselves against industry peers, adopt industry best practices, and drive innovation within their respective organizations.
Prior to moving to his current role, Mr. Maceska was responsible for managing IDC CEMA's systems and infrastructure solutions research practice. In this role, he advised multinational and local IT firms on market development and structure, technology adoption, return on investment, competitive landscape, user and channel segmentation, and future market evolution. Under his leadership, beginning in 1998, the research practice grew to over 40 employees, with research coverage of 10 technology areas in more than 60 countries across the CEMA region.
Prior to joining IDC, Roman Maceska worked as a product manager for telecommunications startup BCH Enterprises, developing sales and marketing strategies for the Czech and Slovak markets.
