Brad Nisbet is Program Manager for IDC's Storage and Data Management Services. In this role, he provides research, analysis, and forecasting to clients interested in the storage services market. Brad is responsible for the ongoing analysis of storage services segments, including consulting, integration, management, and support services. He conducts research on enterprise-focused professional services, managed storage, and online storage services associated with the expansion of storage-as-a-service and cloud computing. In addition to his research responsibilities, Brad provides custom research and consulting for IDC clients on industry trends, product and service offerings, and marketing strategies.

Enterprise organizations continue to experience increased pressures to store, manage, and leverage growing volumes of business data for longer periods of time. In addition, these organizations are being forced to implement a new set of economics to achieve their goals. This confluence of pressures, combined with advancements in storage technology, are increasing demand for storage professional services as well as fueling the fire for the inherent opportunities associated with Storage-as-a-Service and Cloud computing.
Brad has been a storage analyst with IDC since 2001, covering disk storage systems and the associated trends in hardware, software, and services. He was instrumental in the development and ongoing delivery of IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker and Storage Software Tracker. Brad also provided market insight into the many aspects of the disk-based storage landscape, including iSCSI, virtualization, and the evolution of file-based storage technologies.
Prior to joining IDC, Brad was a project manager in the environmental engineering and consulting industry, where he primarily focused on client relations, data acquisition, data modeling and analysis regarding a variety of environmental projects. Brad Nisbet earned an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rutgers University Graduate School and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Loyola College in Maryland.
