As research and consulting director, Gabriel Coimbra is responsible for local market research and consulting. In this role, his main objective is to help ICT providers to implement sustainable and profitable business strategies.
He has more than 10 years' experience in the Portuguese ICT market, having managed and contributed to a variety of projects related to areas such as hardware, software, IT services, and telecoms for the main ICT providers in Portugal.
In conjunction with his research activities, Coimbra also contributes to consulting engagements in the form of customized strategic market planning, go-to-market solutions, and ROI/TCO analysis. Coimbra is often quoted in the press and has appeared on TV.
Coimbra joined IDC as a PC analyst in 1997. Prior to this he worked as a database analyst for a Portuguese company. He has a degree in statistics and information management from the ISEGI-UNL New University of Lisbon and a post-graduate degree in business management from the Portuguese Catholic University.
