Vivian Tero is the Program Director for IDC's Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Infrastructure service. Ms. Teros primary focus is research, analysis, and strategic advisory on information and system infrastructure technologies that facilitate legal discovery, data privacy, and IT GRC (governance, risk management and compliance). In this cross-functional role, Ms. Tero tracks the convergence of content, messaging, and collaborative applications with the systems infrastructure solutions in the context of IT GRC. Ms. Tero is quoted regularly in the trade and business publications and is a frequent presenter at business and technology conferences.
Prior to this role, Ms. Tero managed IDC's Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) System Infrastructure research service and the Infrastructure Management Software and Security Software Tracker programs from IDCs Singapore office. She also executed research and consulting projects for vendors and end-users, including a definitive study on Linux Migration Trends in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan).
Prior to joining IDC, Ms. Tero spent 2 years on strategic and operational planning with Lante Corporation (now AvenueA/Razorfish) in San Francisco. In this role, she worked closely with venture-backed and Fortune 1000 firms in developing and implementing technology-enabled business solutions. Prior to joining Lante, Ms. Tero worked as a financial analyst with the University of San Francisco.
Ms. Tero received her MBA from the University of San Francisco, and her Bachelor of Mathematics' Degree from the University of San Carlos. She has also completed the American Law Institute- American Bar Association (ALI-ABA) continuing legal education course on Data Privacy.
