With more than 16 years of experience in the IT industry, Federico Amprimo is currently leading the strategic direction for Latin America of IDC’s sales and marketing programs, aimed at generating demand and increase IT sales effectiveness. These programs include IDC’s sales enablement, conferences, and Go-to-Market (GMS) services.
Federico Amprimo has developed a deep knowledge of the IT market dynamics and strategies, continuously participating as keynote speaker in the most important conferences and seminars throughout Latin America, on IT and management topics, such as outsourcing, Cloud Computing, the role of the CIO, IT optimization, among others.
Previously, he was the Country Manager for IDC Southern Cone, leading IDC’s research, consulting and conference businesses in Argentina, Chile and Peru; as well as the Research and Consulting Manager for IDC Peru, being responsible for the start up of the IDC office and launch of all IDC services in that country.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Amprimo worked for Atlas Mobile, an early-stage Silicon Valley wireless startup, developing its business and operating plan, as well, for Sun Microsystems’ competitive intelligence division in San Jose, California. Previously, Mr. Amprimo worked as Senior Consultant and Project Manager for Business Consulting & Technology Services (BCTS), a Peruvian IT consulting firm, leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement enterprise software solutions in Chile, Peru and Ecuador. Earlier, at Sonda, he participated in a variety of IT-related projects in the finance industry.
Mr. Amprimo has lived and worked in several countries in Latin America, as well as in the US. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from University of Lima. He has been recently a part-time professor at the MBA-IT program of University of Lima. He is fluent in English and a native Spanish speaker.
