As IDC Latin America’s Research and Consulting Director for Industry Insights, Roberto Gutierrez is responsible for leading the practice across the region. In this role, he assist businesses and IT leaders in a wide range of industries, as well as the suppliers who serve them, in making more effective technology decisions by providing accurate, timely, and insightful fact-based research and consulting services.

Mr. Gutierrez has a previous experience within IDC Brasil in the Consulting practice since 2003, being responsible for business development, consulting engagement execution, and management of the overall IDC Brazil consulting operation.  During that period, Mr. Gutierrez has led several strategic projects for top IT and Telecom providers.

Prior to joining IDC, he worked for Accenture during four years as a consultant for Financial Services institutions where he participated in large projects involving technology and process solutions. Previously with Siemens, Mr. Gutierrez worked in the areas of projects engineering and telecom equipment sales to wireline carriers.

Mr. Gutierrez has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo with extended studies in Business Administration at Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He is a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and Spanish and speaks basic German.
