As Consulting Director, Julie Tiley directs IDC's research teams in providing clients with strategic analysis, market research, industry perspective and business planning counsel. Julie assists clients with designing, introducing, marketing and positioning products/services; developing marketing communications programs and creating compelling message statements; improving partner programs and practices to identify, recruit, and leverage relationships; identifying and targeting high-opportunity market segments; and improving product and service quality through customer and channel satisfaction measurement.

In her 6+ years with IDC's Global Software Business Strategy team, Julie Tiley has developed extensive experience executing primary and secondary market research, including competitive analysis, survey and interview-based research, and the creation of market models. Most recently, her research focused on alliance trends, best practices and benchmarking as the director of IDC's Global Software Alliance Leadership Council.

Prior to joining IDC in 2001, Julie was part of the Asia Pacific, Canada and Latin America product development team and managed the customized information and consulting solutions team at Dun & Bradstreet. Julie Tiley studied economics at the University of Waterloo, and holds a Masters in Business Economics from the Wilfrid Laurier University.
