Ramon Llamas is a Research Manager with IDC's Mobile Phones team. In this role, he gathers and analyzes information on the U.S. mobile devices market for IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, and applies his market expertise to develop an accurate, segmented view of the mobile telephony and handheld devices industries. In addition, Llamas coordinates worldwide mobile device forecast research, updating forecasts each quarter.

Llamas has been quoted in leading industry and business publications, including the New York Times, Investors Business Daily, PC World, RCR Wireless, CNET, and Bloomberg Radio, along with local press, and online publications.

Prior to joining IDC in 2004, Mr. Llamas worked as a student affairs administrator at New Hampshire College and at the Pennsylvania State University. After five years of working in higher education, he began an MBA program at Babson College's F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business where he graduated magna cum laude in 2005. While attending school, he held an internship at Forrester Research, Inc. in its marketing/public relations department, and at Eduventures, assisting with market research and market sizing for the education economy. In addition to his MBA, Llamas holds a BS in Management and an MA in Education from Boston College.
