Rafael Achaerandio

Rafael Achaerandio is research and consulting director at IDC. He is responsible for the execution and management of research and consulting projects in Spain and Portugal, developing new business with key accounts.
In addition to these management activities he carries out strategic studies and research, developing models, forecasts, and trends for the Spanish and Portuguese IT, Internet and media markets, and interacting and consolidating IDC's forecasts and assumptions with EMEA research teams.
Achaerandio provides top-level consulting to senior management, presenting results to board level, and is also a regular contributor of articles and comments about trends, the economy, and technology for specialized ICT papers, the financial press, and other media and broadcasters.
Before joining IDC, Achaerandio worked as a senior strategy consultant with Altran Group (Arthur D. Little and Strategy Consultants). In this post, he developed a number of international IT and telecom strategy projects. Before Altran, he worked with Interhost and Iberdrola.
Achaerandio has an MSc in telecommunications (electrical engineering MSEE) from Carlos III University in Madrid and MBA, Master in economics and business administration from IESE Business School.
