Victor Lim is the Vice President of IDC Asia/Pacific’s Consulting Operations. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for managing and executing consulting projects to meet the strategic, market planning and intelligence needs of IDC's clients.  Victor has extensive hands-on experience in advising and providing support to senior managers in multinational companies with strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisition planning and implementation, business/financial analysis, organizational re-engineering and operational/process improvements. 

Before taking on this role, Victor was responsible for developing IDC’s Industry Insights business in the region. He led Financial Insights, Manufacturing Insights and Government Insights in the region by driving research-based programs to assist vendor clients in industry segmentation, opportunity assessment, and go-to-market strategies. His team also provided CIOs and line-of-business managers with technology-related market intelligence to assist companies in developing their IT strategies, assessing IT investment and returns, and business performance benchmarking.

Victor has more than 10 years of experience as a manager and as a consultant in a broad spectrum of industries ranging from IT, financial services, transportation, manufacturing, oil & gas, to biotechnology. Prior to joining IDC, Victor was the Director of Operations for LexisNexis, an online news and business content provider and publisher, and a Management Consultant with Bain & Company.  He was also with Singapore Airlines, where he was involved in the Marketing Services division and ground operations.

Victor holds a First Class Honors degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from the National University of Singapore.  He also has an MBA degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Business.
