Fouad Charakla joined IDC Middle East, Africa, and Turkey in February 2006. As a research manager in the systems and infrastructure solutions group, he manages the region's PC and media tablet trackers, as well as all other standard and custom research related to these domains. His responsibilities include: gathering, analyzing, and reporting PC and media tablet market trends and dynamics for the MEA region; frequently engaging with regional vendor offices and other key market players to discuss market trends and generate sales leads; and training new analysts. Charakla is also often quoted in IT-related articles published in leading regional newspapers, IT magazines, and business news outlets. Before joining IDC, Fouad Charakla worked at Audi-Volkswagen Middle East FZE. Among other responsibilities, he analyzed and reported on the performance of Audi and Volkswagen against their respective competitors and was involved in preparing sales reports, forecasts, and budgets. Fouad Charakla holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wollongong in Dubai. Born and raised in Dubai, he speaks English, Urdu, and conversational Arabic.
