Brett Waldman is Research Manager for IDC’s Cloud and Virtualization System Software program. In this position, his primary job is to drive the agenda for IDC's client virtualization research. He examines virtualization software products deployed within the enterprise and in the cloud, focusing on software designed to virtualize the client computing experience. In this role, he also explores how BYOD and the rapid adoption of tablets play a role within the transformation of the desktop.
Mr. Waldman has a distinctive background that is a combination of technical, financial and marketing experience, and his past work at IDC has included defining and forecasting the worldwide software appliance market, managing the worldwide quarterly server virtualization tracker and assisting in the client and server operating environment research.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Waldman was an equity analyst at Kaufman Bros. L.P. covering Security Software and Enterprise Applications. Mr. Waldman also has several years of industry experience as an IT consultant for small and medium sized businesses.
Mr. Waldman holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Master’s of Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
