Program Manager, Security Products
As the Program Manager of IDC's Security Products group, John Grady conducts primary research on a variety of markets in order to deliver insightful qualitative and quantitative insights to various stakeholders within client organizations. His primary areas of focus are currently network and web security, and he has led IDC's research on emerging markets such as distributed denial of service mitigation and advanced attack prevention. Additionally, Mr. Grady is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Security Appliance Tracker.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Grady was an analyst in the Pricing Evaluation Service at IDC, where he provided clients with tactical pricing analysis on servers, workstations, desktops and notebooks. Previous to that he was part of the Infrastructure Channels program at IDC, focusing on the go-to-market strategies of IT vendors, especially from an indirect perspective. This included but was not limited to distribution agreements, reseller relationships and strategic vendor alliances.
As an analyst, Mr. Grady has been quoted in publications such as Network World, CSO, eWeek, SC Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, Fox Business, and Investor’s Business Daily among others.
Mr. Grady holds a B.A. in History from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.
