Monika Kumar is Program Vice President for IDC's Global Technology and Industry Research Organization. In this position, Ms. Kumar manages the software and services Vertical Views family of programs, including the Software Market Forecaster: Vertical Markets product. Ms. Kumar also leads the development of IDC’s vertical vendor share offerings, supports IDC’s Insights business units through the management of the Industry IT Spending Guides and the Solutions Market Share Guides, and provides quantitative / qualitative research and analysis for industry-specific markets. Ms. Kumar also contributes to consulting engagements by analyzing market trends for the purpose of IT budgeting and business development strategy.
Prior to joining IDC's Global Technology and Industry Research Organization, Ms. Kumar was a Consulting Manager for IDC's Vertical Consulting Group where she developed and directed custom research and consulting engagements focused on helping organizations develop market entry strategies and improve sales planning efforts. Examples of such engagements include providing strategic analysis to identify market opportunities and improve a client's competitive position in the market, developing IT forecasts to set sales targets, and developing custom research to promote thought leadership in the market.
Prior to joining IDC, Ms. Kumar spent six years in technology and business consulting, focusing on the strategic intersection of technology and financial services while working for TowerGroup, BearingPoint and Andersen Consulting.
Ms. Kumar received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bucknell University, with a minor in International Relations.
