Group Vice President, Global Technology and Industry Research Organization
Monika Kumar is Group Vice President for IDC's Global Technology and Industry Research Organization. In this position, Ms. Kumar oversees a portfolio of programs including the IoT Spending Guide, Business Analytics, Software Vertical Views programs as well as IDC’s Insights Industry IT Spending Guides and the Solutions Guides. In addition to quantitative and qualitative research in industry-specific markets, Ms. Kumar contributes to consulting engagements and custom research requests to support IT vendors’ overall market strategies. Ms. Kumar brings almost fifteen years of technology, business consulting and research experience to IDC, with an extensive background in market opportunity assessment and competitor analysis.
Prior to joining IDC's Global Technology and Industry Research Organization, Ms. Kumar was a Consulting Manager for IDC's Vertical Consulting Group where she developed and directed custom research and consulting engagements focused on helping organizations develop market entry strategies and improve sales planning efforts. Examples of such engagements include providing strategic analysis to identify market opportunities and improve a client's competitive position in the market, developing IT forecasts to set sales targets, and developing custom research to promote thought leadership in the market.
Prior to joining IDC, Ms. Kumar spent six years in technology and business consulting, focusing on the strategic intersection of technology and financial services while working for BearingPoint and Andersen Consulting.
Ms. Kumar received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bucknell University, with minors in International Relations and International Law.
