With more than 8 years of experience in the technology industry and market research, Daniel Zegarra is in charge of the Emerging Markets research practice at IDC Latin America, responsible for quarterly and semi-annual studies in consumer technologies throughout Central America, the Caribbean, Bolivia, Uruguay and Paraguay.
His specific areas of expertise include PCs, tablets, monitors, printers, printing supplies, and mobile phones, among other consumer products. His responsibilities include: management of the research process, quality check of the information, management of the consulting projects, business development and team management, as well as the presentation of results and recommendations to clients.
Previously, he served as Team Leader of emerging markets, leading the expansion of the area, increasing geographical coverage and technologies. As a regional analyst, he was responsible for conducting personal interviews, identifying historical market trends and forecasting future prospects in emerging countries. Prior to joining IDC, he was a quality and process intern in INEXXO, a Peruvian company dedicated to consulting and development of information systems, responsible for developing process and implementing software for CMMI Level 3 certification.
Daniel has developed a deep knowledge of information technologies and trends in the region, collaborating with IT magazines such as: Mercados y Tendencias, Canal TI, ITNOW, and has also been the keynote speaker at the Outsourcing event in November 2015 (Costa Rica). He has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, along with a specialization in Computer Security from USIL.
