Sylvia Wunsche is a research analyst with IDC's EMEA Telecommunications and Networking team, based in Amsterdam. She is responsible for IDC's Europe, Middle East, and Africa Networking Channels to Market program. Within this research program she focuses on channels and routes to sell networking equipment, such as router, Ethernet switches, WLAN, IP PBXs, UC/voice and video equipment, as well as associated services. Her coverage includes trends, news, profiles, predictions, and forecasts around networking channels in EMEA, and is essential to all providers that offer network equipment and related professional services.

Prior to this, Wunsche covered the networking equipment market in EMEA, especially routing and switching. She focused on analyzing trends and developments in the enterprise networking market, tracked vendor and country shares, created product and country forecasts, and carried out competitive analyses.

Wunsche has a master's degree in business communications. She joined IDC in February 2008, and previously worked as marketing manager for the Dutch-German Chamber of Commerce in The Hague. Before that she worked as marketing and strategy consultant for a Dutch insurance software provider, where she was responsible for market research, marketing, and event management. She also has several years' experience as a freelance consultant in Germany.
