Andrew Hanson is Research Analyst with IDC's U.S. Quarterly PC Tracker and Personal Computing Programs. He provides deep-dive qualitative analysis on competition, trends, and technology. He is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and forecasting data on the U.S. PC market. In this role, he gathers and analyzes information from a large roster of PC vendors, distributors, retailers, and component and software makers, and applies his market expertise to help shape forecasts related to products, customers, and channels in the U.S. market.
Most recently, Andrew J. Hanson was an Associate Research Analyst on IDC's Security Products team. In this position, he executed primary research projects, and analyzes markets for both vendors and user customers. His primary focus was on hardware and software network, as well as endpoint security products. Specific areas of concentration include threat management appliances, UTM appliances, intrusion prevention, and security virtualization.
Before joining the Security Products team, Andrew was a member of the IDC Inquire group, where he supported clients of IDC's Telecom Services, Communications, and Channels research. As an Inquiry Analyst, he also contributed to a wide variety of research projects in collaboration with the IDC analysts that he supported.
