Varun Srikumar is senior consultant at IDC's European Systems and Infrastructure Group. In this role, he is responsible for developing areas of consulting in client PC computing, consumer devices, and client virtualization services. Srikumar provides strategic analysis on client competitive landscapes, go-to-market services, and business planning and advice to PC, consumer, and client virtualization vendors. Srikumar's consulting engagements include competitive analysis and benchmarking, opportunity analysis, surveys, validating business strategies, and authoring white papers.
Srikumar joined IDC from Aranca UK, where he was an engagement manager for competitive intelligence and intellectual property (IP) research on computing technologies and consumer devices. Before joining Aranca, Srikumar headed the IP research division at Ameriprise Financial (formerly American Express) in India, where he consulted with worldwide Amex internal business functions on technology and financial product development. Prior to Ameriprise Financial, Srikumar was senior associate at Evalueserve, a business/technology research provider, where he developed business cases on new markets for a host of technology clients.
He has an MBA in strategy consulting from the University of Leeds in the U.K. and a bachelor's degree in computer science engineering from RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, India.
