Shimpei Asano is a Research Analyst of IDC's Japan Software & Security Group, based in Tokyo. In this role, he is responsible for the analysis of enterprise applications & solutions in Japan. His primary area of coverage includes Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications and content applications. He also contributes to market forecast, vendor competitive and strategic analysis, and end-user trend Analysis.

Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Asano worked at NEC Corporation and NEC Learning, Ltd. where he was responsible for planning, developing and delivering IT Product education and training.

Mr. Asano holds a Master's degree in Information and Sciences from Nagoya University, Japan. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Informatics and Sciences from Nagoya University, Japan
