Megha Saini is a Research Analyst in IDC's Worldwide Consumer Device Tracker program. In this role, she focuses on research that combines IDC's industry leading Tracker data with extensive customer surveys to provide greater insights into shipments across various consumer demographic segments and buyer types, important purchase drivers and PC usage types like music, photo, video and gaming related activities. She uses her expertise in data mining, spreadsheet modeling and statistical analysis to deliver thorough quantitative analysis of consumer buying behavior and provide competitive intelligence for major IT vendors in worldwide market.
In a previous role, Ms. Saini worked as an intern in the Consumer research group at IDC where she did excel modeling to analyze consumer survey data for internet companies in the areas of digital media, online gaming and mobile advertising.
Prior to joining IDC, Ms. Saini completed a one year internship at the University of Trento in Italy. She also worked as a Senior Software Engineer in India to gain professional IT experience. She has published research in the area of Artificial Intelligence, which was presented at Stanford University for the AAAI Spring Symposia’07. Ms. Saini also has experience in projects related to new product development, business intelligence and strategic management.
Ms. Saini holds an MBA in Management Science from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL, as well as a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from IIIT-Bangalore, India.
