Dan Iacono is a research director within IDC's Storage Systems research practice. He provides detailed insight and analysis on evolving industry trends, vendor performance, and the impact of new technology adoption. Mr. Iacono is responsible for producing and delivering timely, in-depth market research with a specific focus on storage tiering, solid state, & cloud.

Prior to joining IDC, Dan held IT management, consulting and storage engineering positions at Glasshouse Technologies, BridgeView Partners, Philadelphia Insurance, Hewlett-Packard and StorageApps. With a strong business, IT, and storage practitioner's background, Dan has extensive product and product deployment experience, and is a well known industry expert, often speaking/participating at storage events and conferences and authoring industry papers.

Dan is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Redhat Certified Engineer (RHCE). He is also a Brocade Certified SAN Manager (BCSM), McData Certified Expert (CSNE), and Certified Cisco Associate (CCNA). Dan holds a Telecom degree from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Lasalle University.
