Pete Marston serves as research manager for IDC's Application Development, Testing, and Management Services (ADTMS) program and is a member of the Outsourcing Services research team. Mr. Marston develops research focused on the lifecycle of application services markets which include custom application development (CAD), testing, application management (AM), also referred to as ADM (application development and maintenance), and hosted application management (HAM). His research examines and identifies key trends and market dynamics including the impact of mobility, cloud, hosting, analytics and social media across these services markets.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Marston served as an analyst at Forrester Research where he covered customer relationship management (CRM). His focus while at Forrester centered on sales force automation (SFA), SaaS, mobile CRM, B2B Ecommerce, and partner channel management. Before joining Forrester, Mr. Marston spent several years with Molecular (now Roundarch/Isobar) where he led project teams delivering custom-built web applications and hosted website solutions. His experience also includes management consulting roles with KPMG where he led packaged application and system integration projects for clients in the financial services and automotive industries. Mr. Marston holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Babson College, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics from Connecticut College.
