Samuel Carvalho is the coordinator of research and consulting engagements related to the software industry in Brazil. In IDC since 2007, Samuel has experience in Technologies such as: Big Data/Analytics, Cloud Computing, ERP, CRM, Security Software, among others.
During the year, Mr. Carvalho conducts hundreds of interviews with the main executives of larger software companies in Brazil and outside. Mr. Carvalho is a frequent speaker at software related conferences and seminars in Brazil. And has also conducted/supported several customized studies and consultancy projects all of Latin America. Part of his analysis were published in business and industry publications, including Business News Americas, Valor Econômico, Exame, Época, IstoÉ, Folha de São Paulo, ComputerWorld, TI Inside among others.
Before IDC he worked with Liebherr Brazil at technical assistance area. He holds a post graduation diploma in Strategic Marketing and Sales Management from Fundação Escola de Comércio Álvares Pendeado (FECAP). He is also graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from FECAP. Besides, Samuel studied Industrial Automation at SENAI Armando de Arruda Pereira. Mr. Carvalho is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and advanced in Spanish.
Since 2006 he is a member of Estudar Foundation, a non-for-profit organization that encourages leadership development in Brazil through scholarships, mentorship and networking. Samuel also writes a blog about Information Technology and had experience as an internet entrepreneur.
