Associate Vice President
Olivier Schaller is the Associate Vice-President of IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP) for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey region. Olivier leverages the breadth of IDC research programs to advise enterprise IT organizations, helping time-constrained senior executives make more effective technology decisions. He brings over 20 years of business and technology experience, having spent most of his career as a strategic advisor and consultant to large enterprise clients.
In his previous position, Olivier was Director of the Oracle Insight Program for the Middle East and Africa region, where he engaged with top-level executives to assess the gap between their business goals and current business processes and IT capabilities. Utilizing industry best practices, Olivier and his team defined roadmaps for process improvement, recommended strategies to better align business needs with IT, estimated required investments, and built financial business cases.
Prior to working at Oracle, Olivier was the Business Development Manager for the telecom sector at Sun Microsystems for the Middle East and Africa.
In the first half of his career, Olivier worked for 10 years at Accenture in France and the UK, where he managed and delivered a wide variety of consulting projects ranging from IT strategy definition to technology implementation. His work spanned a broad range of technologies including e-commerce, ERP implementations, Web services, collaboration and knowledge management solutions, and network and data center infrastructure.
Olivier graduated with a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and a M.Sc. in Communication Systems from the Eurécom Institute in France. He also holds an Executive MBA from London Business School.
