Abstract

This IDC study has found that 99% of European user organizations with 50 or more employees already use at least one cloud service. More than 35% had two or more cloud services in full deployment. The study is based from an IDC telephone survey of 700 European organizations carried out February 2012. The purpose of the interviews was to investigate CIOs spending plans and priorities in 2012, including their usage of cloud services. IDC regularly carries out surveys of user intentions in a wide variety of areas, including cloud.

"If you ask enough questions, you now find that almost everyone is already using one of more cloud services," said David Bradshaw, research manager, IDC European Cloud Services. "However, cloud remains a tiny though very rapidly growing fraction of the conventional IT delivery capabilities of most user organizations."
