This IDC study examines the postpaid wireless services market in the United States. It assesses key market trends and developments, evaluates subscribers and revenue for 2014, and presents a revenue and subscriber forecast for 2015–2019. In this forecast, postpaid services include voice and data mobile devices, including mobile broadband devices. This forecast provides analysis of postpaid subscriber net additions, ARPU, and revenue.
"No-contract subscribers continue to grow steadily in the postpaid market, especially now that subsidized devices have essentially been discontinued by all of the top-tier mobile operators," says Brian Haven, senior research analyst, United States Mobile Consumer Services. "No-contract plans are generally more palatable to today's consumer subscriber, who has more freedom to move to the service provider that best fits their subjective mobile needs now that they are no longer tied down by an arbitrary early termination fee."
