This IDC study identifies and analyzes IDC's 2016 top predictions for the consumer technologies market.
"We expect to see significant development in 2016 in terms of how consumers are engaging with technology, specifically in areas such as augmented and virtual reality, biometric authentication, and retail," says Brian Haven, senior research analyst for IDC's U.S. Mobile Consumer Services Program. "Moreover, the landscape of both content and wireless services is expected to adapt to shifting demand. Certain content, such as eSports, is coming to the forefront, and cellular connectivity is expected to expand to the next generation of devices."
