This IDC Survey provides insights and analysis into findings from IDC's annual SMB IT decision maker (ITDM) survey. For this specific survey, cloud IT adoption is the focus. Slides pertain to the average rate of cloud IT adoption among U.S. SMBs, the average number of sanctioned cloud apps and services, and the business performance and age/generation of IT leadership's impact on the propensity to utilize cloud IT.
IDC defines small business as firms with 1-99 employees and midmarket as firms with 100–999 employees. Millennials are executives aged 35 or younger who make up the majority of a given firm's leadership. Members of Generation X are aged 35-50, baby boomers are 50-70, and members of the Greatest Generation are 70 or older. The data presented is from IDC's October 2015 U.S. SMB ITDM Survey fielded to a total of 700 SMB ITDMs surveyed on a variety of IT-related topics.
