Abstract

This IDC Market Presentation provides a quarterly overview of current enterprise business sentiments and economic sentiments, takes a deeper dive into connectivity preferences by region, and looks at the impact of generative AI on connectivity transformation plans and road maps.

The data in this presentation comes from IDC's recurring Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, interviewing 888 participants across a global mix of industries and geographies. All are senior IT and line-of-business decision makers tasked with shaping strategic technology, architecture, operating model, and vendor choices for their organizations' network, connectivity, device, and service engagement strategy.

"While economic conditions remain somewhat uncertain as we approach the end of the calendar year, enterprise connectivity spending remains healthy, with 40% of enterprises increasing budget expectations in key segments to manage increasing bandwidth needs," explains Paul Hughes, research director, Future of Connectedness at IDC. "The hype and expectations of generative AI remains early stage as it pertains specifically to connectivity transformation, with Asia/Pacific businesses taking the most aggressive steps today to embed it into their long-term connectivity road map."
