Abstract
This IDC Perspective highlights the emerging direct-to-film (DTF) printer category, which is poised to disrupt the direct-to-garment (DTG) printer market on a worldwide basis. Two of the leading large-format printer manufacturers, Roland DGA and Mimaki USA, chime in on the value that DTF printers offer and how they are going to market.
“DTF printers represent a new opportunity to bring value to end users, one that could disrupt the present DTG business,” said Tim Greene, research director, Industrial and Wide-Format Printing at IDC.
