Abstract


This IDC Tech Buyer Survey Spotlight illustrates the key factors consumers consider when they choose a new financial institution to assist them with their financial journey. This document contains data from IDC Financial Insights' 2024 North American Consumer Channel Preference Survey, conducted in January 2024. This web-based survey was taken by 2,750 individuals over the age of 18 who have a checking account and was designed to gauge usage, satisfaction levels, and trends during the customer life cycle of retail and small business owners in the United States and Canada.

"Knowing what customers need can help shape the technology and personalization provided throughout their financial journey and provides some interesting insight into what really matters to the customer when they ultimately choose a new institution," explained Marc DeCastro, research director, Worldwide Consumer Banking Digital Strategies at IDC Financial Insights.
