IDC Launches New Technology Conference and Workshop for Turkey's Finance Community
01 Nov 2015
International Data Corporation (IDC) is delighted to the launch of its new 'Finance Technology Conference' to be hosted at Istanbul's Wyndham Grand Levent Hotel on November 11. The event will provide the perfect platform for senior decision makers from across Turkey's finance sector to discuss the very latest industry innovations and share strategies for enhancing the customer experience and reducing dependence on the traditional branch environment. It will also host the launch of IDC's Finance and Technology Advisory Board for Turkey.
"Faced with heavy competition, finance institutions in Turkey are focusing on improving their customer centricity by providing innovative solutions that leverage the very latest advances in technology," says Nevin Cizmeciogullari, country manager at IDC Turkey. "Banks that make intelligent use of modern delivery channels like online and mobile stand to gain a significant advantage over their peers, as convenience is the primary benefit that customers are looking for. As such, ongoing investment in these channels is of paramount importance, but organizations must also remember to maintain a strong focus on the increasingly complex security aspect of these sophisticated deployments."
“In Turkey, CIOs are faced with a landscape where competition is fierce and a well-established regulatory environment exists” says Fatma Ozdemir, program manager for telecoms at IDC Turkey. “Economic and political turbulence also pose a threat to financial institutions operating in the country. As such, those wishing to make gains in the market will have to quickly act on disparate and occasionally conflicting priorities, especially when it comes to maintaining growth rates while also gaining first-mover advantage with new lines of business. Other conundrums include decoding customer preferences before the customers themselves know what they want, and balancing the risks of pursuing innovation as an effective strategy for generating new revenue sources. IDC's 'Finance Technology Conference' will shed light on all of these issues and much more besides.”
IDC Turkey has also identified a need to enhance the ability of vendor sales teams to effectively convey their messages and position their products to key decision makers within the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) industry. In order to facilitate such improvements, IDC will host a half-day workshop in Istanbul on the day following the 'Finance Technology Conference' (November 12), with sessions aimed at developing a clearer understanding of the key trends, drivers, and challenges that are shaping investment decisions within the sector.
This workshop will equip sales teams with a greater awareness of prevailing CxO and LOB concerns, enabling them to converse more fluently with customers about their transformational needs and better demonstrate the value of their horizontal solution sets to BFSI stakeholders. Led by Cyrus Daruwala, managing director of IDC's Financial Insights and Investment Research Division, the workshop will also conduct hands-on role-play scenarios that will help gauge and improve the sales messaging capabilities of those in attendance.
To ensure that the very latest vertical-specific technologies are covered at the 'Finance Technology Conference' in Istanbul, IDC has partnered with a number of leading vendors and channels, including KoçSistem as Principal Partner; Citrix and Juniper Networks as Premier Partners; Veeam, CyberArk, ITway, Check Point, Pro-Link, and Red Hat as Parallel Session Partners; and Platin Bilisim as Exhibit Partner.
