IDC Australia Announces New Analyst Lead for Software Research Across ANZ

Sydney, Australia, November 28th , 2012. IDC Australia is announcing today that Head of Research, Matt Oostveen has named Shayum Rahim as the organisations senior analyst and lead for software research across Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to joining IDC, Shayum was with Microsoft where he worked as a business development manager for the company's Dynamics, Microsoft SQL Server and Business Intelligence platforms. Prior to this Mr Rahim was with Oracle where he was involved in managing business development for database and middleware products as well as enterprise applications. Additionally, Shayum has been involved in regionally led project teams focused on channel and partner ecosystems.
"Shayum brings years of software industry experience to the role" said Mr Oostveen. "His background coupled with exposure to many aspects of the industry gives him a unique perspective and IDC is very excited to have him aboard."

Based in Sydney, Shayum is responsible for leading research into the Australian and New Zealand software industry. Additionally, Shayum will head IDC's Big Data and Enterprise Application Software practices.
