FRAMINGHAM, Mass. July
25, 2012 – International
Data Corporation (IDC) has released its 2012 MarketScape
report profiling and ranking the leading providers in the worldwide social technology
for integrated talent management market. This new research indicates that the
landscape may look quite different in 2013 as a number of vendors have made
recent acquisitions or new product introductions with plans for rolling out new
capabilities in social learning, workforce network analysis, and collaboration.
IDC MarketScape vendor
analysis reports utilize a rigorous scoring methodology that produces a definitive
assessment of each vendor's current market capabilities and strategies for
competing in the future.
IDC MarketScape: Worldwide
Social Technology for Integrated Talent Management 2012 Vendor Analysis (IDC #236025), evaluates the offerings and prospects of 11
vendors' relative capabilities. These providers were evaluated using detailed
criteria that IDC identified as key factors contributing to vendor success in
the social technology for worldwide integrated talent management market. The
vendors included in the analysis are ADP, Cornerstone OnDemand, Halogen
Software, Kenexa, Lawson (Infor), Peoplefluent, Saba, SilkRoad, SuccessFactors,
SumTotal, and Taleo (Oracle).
The
IDC MarketScape methodology placed SuccessFactors in the "Leaders" category
this year with Cornerstone OnDemand, Lawson (Infor), Peoplefluent, Saba,
SilkRoad, SumTotal and Taleo (Oracle) listed as "Major Players."
"The
market for incorporating social technology in talent management is as yet
nascent. IDC finds that while progress is being made, few leaders have emerged,
but this is changing quickly," says Lisa Rowan,
program director, HR,
Talent, and Learning Strategies and Services for IDC. "The landscape
may look quite different in 2013 as a number of vendors have made recent
acquisitions or new product introductions, with plans for rolling out new
capabilities in social learning, workforce network analysis, and collaboration."
