Abstract

This IDC Insight delivers an analysis of the results of IDC's Next Generation Workspace Ecosystem research program, which tested common assumptions about enterprise mobility by surveying the views of CIOs and IT decision makers, along with enterprise employees. The results presented below are drawn from an organisation size segmentation of two related IDC surveys: The ANZ Next Generation Workspace Ecosystem CIO and IT Decision Maker Survey, September 2011 andthe ANZEnterprise Employee Survey, September 2011.

The 291 participants surveyed in The ANZ Next Generation Workspace Ecosystem CIO and IT Decision-Maker Survey are involved in ongoing management or decisions about their organisations' workspaces and employed by an organisation, in either Australia or New Zealand, with more than 50 employees. The survey polled participants on their former, current, and future technology and business plans, perceptions, and experiences that relate to their workspace. The Enterprise Employee Survey investigated the perceptions, usage, and expectations of 600 enterprise employees in ANZ around consumer and business technologies. It forms the second part of a wide-ranging Next Generation Workspace Ecosystem in ANZ research program.
