Melissa Fremeijer is a research analyst in the EMEA Telecommunications and Networking Group in Amsterdam. Fremeijer focuses on the IP telephony market and contributes to IDC's Unified Communications research.

Before joining IDC Amsterdam in January 2008, Fremeijer worked for IDC Asia/Pacific Telecommunications Research Group in Singapore. Her research here was mainly on IP communications, including IP telephony and IP VPN — both services and equipment. She also worked across the telecommunications research group to conduct data analysis and research and provide insights across a wide range of telecommunications issues.

Before joining IDC, Fremeijer was with a prominent international bank, ABN Amro. As a senior analyst she advised management of treasury operations on business organizational and strategy matters and was responsible for internal IT cost control, internal service-level management, and monthly distribution of the business unit's performance data.

Fremeijer has a bachelor degree from the International Hospitality Management School, Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
