Michael Vorisek joined the IDC Telecommunications group in 2008. As an associate analyst, he focuses on the CEE telecommunications markets, specifically those of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.

Mr. Vorisek came to IDC from the realm of academia, where he had been working as both teacher and researcher, with a particular focus on the history of sociology. He studied history and sociology at Charles University in Prague and social and political science at the European University Institute in Florence. In addition to his native Czech, he is fluent in English and Italian and speaks passable French and German.
