Digital Event | December 22, 2020
The IDC Industry Insights Innovation Awards is a forum specially designed for today’s CIOs and IT leaders as a platform for open networking with peers and technology partners; immersive content by IDC thought leaders; and, most importantly, to acknowledge and applaud the transformative initiatives led by the tech leaders that have accelerated their organization's journey towards digital maturity.
The disruption in the past year has been unparalleled. Every organization has been impacted. Some organizations have thrived during this period, while others have focused on survival. The Industry Innovation Awards seek to recognize organizations and leaders who have driven change through the application of technology to improve business performance in specific industry verticals and areas of business.
This year we will be awarding and hosting the leaders virtually for the awards ceremony alongside an exciting line-up of sessions with IDC analysts and industry experts sharing insights on the theme 'Resiliency and Innovation: Surviving and Thriving'. Nominations are now open for IDC Industry Insights Innovation Awards 2020. Scroll below to know more about award categories, nomination criteria, and deadline.

Resiliency is defined as the ability to “recover quickly from difficulties”. COVID was and is a difficulty. However, when we look at the impact we find that those organizations with high 'digital maturity' were less severely hit than those with low digital maturity. Those who were already digital were able to respond much quicker to the difficulties presented - be it continuing operations, enabling the workforce to work from anywhere, getting visibility across the supply chain, or being able to produce new products and services to address new demands - all aspects of the operations have been changed.
Business strategies have changed. We have seen decision making accelerate rapidly.
Infrastructure
Do you have the right infrastructure to scale?
41% of Manufacturers in APeJ do not and consider it an inhibitor to growth!
Cloud
Will your organization leverage cloud to drive business transformation?
38% of Indian retailers expect to implement a retail commerce platform over the next 12 months.
Security
Are all your data and systems secure?
58% of Indian retailers have and are expecting to implement blockchain solutions over the next two years.
Artificial Intelligence
Where do you expect to see the greatest benefits?
The use of cognitive planning is ranked #1 by Indian manufacturers.
As the NEXT NORMAL becomes less opaque, the split between organizations with high digital maturity and those with low digital maturity widen. From a strategy perspective, those with high digital maturity, are now thinking about how to innovate in new products and services, and how to gain greater market share. Those with a low level of digital maturity are focused on business continuity and keeping the business running.
The overreaching conclusion is that the key to success lies in Scale and Automation – and this can only be delivered by PLATFORMS – the intelligent core that connects a multitude of aspects of business transformation (internal and external). The journey to platforms, however, is fraught with many challenges – and adopting an integrated approach across – hardware, software, and services and the investments thereof.
