IDC Announcement: Industry & Business Solutions Group & Public Sector Research Leadership Changes at IDC Canada

Toronto ON., - International Data Corporation (IDC) Canada Limited announced today the appointment of Jason Bremner to Research Vice President, Industry & Business Solutions Group, and the full-time retirement of Mark Schrutt, who will continue to work with IDC Canada on a part-time basis as a Strategic Advisor of Public Sector & Innovation Research.

Canadian IT industry veteran, Jason Bremner rejoined IDC in January to lead the research team focused on industry and business solutions. His team is responsible for market analysis, forecasting and custom research related to application software and business services markets in Canada, with specific focus on how different industries are investing in cloud, analytics, mobility and IoT to accelerate digital transformation. Jason brings two decades of experience to the role as both a client of IDC's services and an analyst, having worked at IBM, HP as well IDC Canada. Jason is also the lead analyst for Strategic Sourcing, providing insights and thought leadership on key issues and trends affecting the outsourcing markets. Jason's market knowledge, understanding of the ICT sector, expertise in marketing, sales, business planning, and experience leading teams are valuable attributes that IDC's clients will benefit from. Mark Schrutt retires from full-time employment and becomes Strategic Advisor, Public Sector & Innovation Research for IDC Canada
After a very successful decade at IDC, Mark has chosen a new path and will retire from full-time employment this month. However, at IDC we're pleased to have him continue to work with us part-time on Canadian public sector research and innovation studies beginning February 1. Mark will be the primary analyst for Government Insights and Health Industry Insights in Canada, as part of IDC's vertical industry research programs. While we will miss Mark's day-to-day presence, thought leadership and award-winning research at IDC, he leaves a strong legacy and has built a solid foundation for the team's continued success in the future.
