IDC GDPR Hands-on Workshop

GDPR Countdown – 2 months to go!

Nicosia, March 21, 2018

GDPR compliance is top of mind for organizations, and preparations are well under way. The next big step in the GDPR compliance journey is technology selection and organizations are starting to form an opinion on “State-of-the-Art”. The 2-month countdown mark is a critical time for organizations to learn about best practices and state-of-the-art technologies.

IDC advises vendors to provide advisory services and educational materials on the legislation, in partnership with lawyers and/or IT service providers, and demonstrate how your solutions help to meet GDPR compliance requirements and “State-of-the-art”.

At IDC’s GDPR Countdown 2018 Workshop, we will again ask organizations to complete a GDPR Readiness Assessment to understand where they are in preparations for May 25th 2018 and how they have progressed during the past months.

GDPR compliance is a complex task and organizations are looking for advice on how to address key requirements like data protection by design and default, data minimization, right-to-be-forgotten, encryption & pseudonomysation and of course State-of-the-Art. The workshop will provide key steps to take in the next 3 months with the compliance deadline rapidly closing in.

We look forward to working with you to create an intensive half day conference, taking a practical angle on GDPR, sharing best practices and giving an overview of technologies relevant for GDPR compliance.

Welcome to GDPR Countdown Workshop 2018!

GDPR: How to Tackle Consent and Preference Management

Dave Horton
Technical Lead, OneTrust EMEA

Consent is an active area that many organizations are currently struggling with in GDPR (and ePrivacy). Consent impacts both B2B and B2C marketing activities, as well as deeper business activities that may require consent such as automatic decision making, processing special categories of data, or cross-border data transfers. This session will help clarify why consent is so unique in GDPR, when you do (and don’t) need consent, and practical case studies of how to tackle consent, re-consent, and preference management in practice.
