Together with the key stakeholders in the DACH region and internationally networked through IDC Health Insights, we face the most pressing questions of digitization in the health sector.
This has never been more topical than now, when the enormous challenge of the pandemic has sharpened our eyes: long-standing and much-discussed topics suddenly had to be implemented at short notice and effectively put into practice. Proactivity shows, in view of too short-reaching reactive action, as crucial for life. Limitations due to the long-term unchanged framework conditions manifest themselves drastically. A 360 ° view of health, combined with close and efficient cooperation between all parties involved, is increasingly proving to be the only possible future of our health system.
With these contours of the next step in our health system, which are now more clearly perceptible, the task of digitization as a system-determining basis stands out more clearly than ever, even if humanity and human character must always come first: In the future, “real” and “digital” flow seamlessly into each other.
The challenge of a 360 ° vision of health is faced with a complex system of health agents that have historically grown with great diversity and whose coordination is not always easy. The basic idea of the IDC Health Summit is one thing: Key stakeholders in the health care system are looking for solutions together that will make our health system more efficient, resilient and powerful.
In this spirit, IDC has already implemented two successful health summits, internationally oriented, but focused on Austria. But health knows no borders, and this commonality must be lived in the entire region. That is why we are expanding this dialogue between top-class representatives of the healthcare sector in the DACH region in order to jointly demonstrate important learnings, necessary concrete next steps and international best practices against the background of the “COVID-19 crisis”.

With the IDC Health Awards, IDC honors outstanding solutions and projects once a year that optimally use and advance digitalization in the health sector in the DACH region. We bring innovative and particularly useful approaches in front of the curtain in order to honor them properly and at the same time make them known to other stakeholders in order to promote innovative efforts within the DACH health community.
The focus of the IDC Health Awards is primarily on the benefit for citizens and patients, which is why the prize is awarded in the following categories:
Proximity to patients
“Together a team with the patient” | Healthcare Personalization | "Move the healthcare, not the patient" | "Digital" before "Outdoor" before "Indoor" | Service structures independent of time and place | End-to-end support / support | Chronicle Disease Management | Prevention
Improving health literacy
Education | Apps for everyday life | Better communication between citizens and the health system | transparency
building up trust
Platform of trust (technical and content) | Data protection | Data security
The IDC Health Awards were launched in 2018 to recognize and highlight innovative and visionary projects of digital change in the health sector. But not only innovation itself should be recognized: when the IDC Health Award is presented, special attention is paid to ensuring that the solutions are in harmony with the needs of all stakeholders in the diverse health ecosystem. For this reason, the categories are designed to be patient-centered: creating closeness to patients, increasing their health literacy and building and strengthening trust between patients and other stakeholders. In IDC’s view, these approaches are the best way to lead the DACH region to sustainable health excellence.
Our Awards Committee covers the entire health and life science value chain and is made up of well-known system partners from the health systems in the DACH zone and international experts. As a result, the local relevance of the solutions is assessed and international best practices (e.g. from the IDC Health Insights analysts) are used as a benchmark. The IDC Health Awards is a particularly practical award.
