IDC Future of Work - Benelux

Future of Work Redefined

DIGITAL FORUM | October 22, 2020

Overview

Technology is changing work as we know it — and there has already been a clear shift. This was evident at IDC's Future of Work conference in 2019, and we are very much looking forward to continuing the discussion with our Future of Work conferences in October 2020.

More than four out of five European organizations have digital transformation as a key strategic imperative. While the attention has initially often been on how digital technologies can support the experience of and interaction with the customer, many have realized that they need to bring the internal workforce with them for success.

Workplace transformation cannot be ignored, and we are moving further than just discussing employee productivity and remote working. The future of work takes collaboration to a completely new level where people work virtually with multisourced online communities, work across ecosystems, and work with AI, augmented humans, and machines on a daily basis.

This work transformation will impact how we think about business and organizations. It will impact the resources and technologies we need to succeed, and we need to change the mindset and culture around working. At IDC we see major investments ahead as questions arise around how we manage HR, IT, finance, security, intellectual property, and the like.
For these reasons, IDC's Future of Work conference will address an important discussion around how organizations prepare themselves for the future and how digital technologies can be brought into the workplace environment to empower an efficient workforce — whoever they are.
