Manufacturing companies at the crossroads – how to overcome a period of uncertainty?
The manufacturing sector has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. The many shocks to society that we have witnessed have hit manufacturing particularly hard. We are very likely headed for an economic recession, and manufacturers will need to adapt to a new reality much faster.
This IDC keynote will outline activities and measures that help businesses increase resilience and competitiveness. We will focus primarily on leveraging digital technologies, such as ERP, MES, cloud, augmented reality, and IoT. We will also discuss cybersecurity issues and the need to integrate enterprise IT with operating technologies. Since IDC sees digitization not only as an opportunity to improve internal effectiveness, but mainly as an opportunity to increase or diversify revenues, we will also touch upon new business models.
