Overview

Cloud services, especially public cloud services, have become the de facto source of digital transformation for enterprises in every industry as well as being the preferred IT consumption model for consumers. They fuel innovation as they are the foundation for next-gen technologies such as AI, robotics, data services, IoT, and others.

Cloud also empowers collaboration across organisational boundaries, by making available collaborative tools, mobile apps and data exchanges that can be consumed at scale by distinct business units in an enterprise and by partners across an ecosystem.

Cloud increases resilience and environmental sustainability of computing resources, because of the distributed, virtualized nature of large-scale datacentres that public cloud services rely upon.

It is no surprise then that by the end of 2021, European enterprises' spending on all cloud technologies will cross $100 Billion, according to IDC's Cloud Services Tracker data.

We are entering an era of "cloud is everywhere for everything" as it is becoming an attractive option for not just next generation of applications but also to modernize core applications and scale innovation.
IDC predicts that by the end of 2021, 80% of enterprises will put a mechanism in place to shift to cloud-centric digital infrastructure twice as fast as before the pandemic

It is time to think about high scale migration to cloud environments and operationalise cloud at scale.

Join IDC, CTS and Intel as well as c-suites delegates from various industries in this interactive roundtable discussion on 7th October, 2021 from 9am where discussions will focus on how to successfully migrate to the cloud at scale.

The conversations will include examples and best practices to excel in cloud-centric innovation, how to de-risk your cloud journeys and the role of public cloud in meeting business' goals around energy efficiency and sustainability.

Topics of discussion:

1. Making the business case for high velocity migration

2. Art of the possible - How high velocity migrations enable businesses to think bigger

3. Sustainability - How is the move to public cloud can help businesses to meet their sustainability goals

Open discussion focussing on three key themes

Topics of discussion:

1. Making the business case for high velocity migration

Workload Migration Considerations (Costs, Application Dependencies, Business Needs, and multiple paths to cloud) Movement from capex to opex model (Transforming from cloud as infrastructure to cloud as a new operating model, Cloud FinOps) Continuous optimisation (operational excellence, higher visibility into infrastructure, application and usage behaviours)

2. Art of the possible - How high velocity migrations enable businesses to think bigger

What this enables from a modernisation and data/ML perspective as businesses move to horizon two (Cloud 2.0 is about leveraging innovation accelerators such as AI and ML in the cloud to drive insights-based business models)

How capabilities like automation and ML-driven migration strategies reduce management overheads to invest in innovation.  How migrations enable businesses to rethink their operating model

3. Sustainability - How is the move to public cloud can help businesses to meet their sustainability goals

Time to excel in outlining the long-term design point and align cloud migration strategy to business and innovation needs!
